Materica is a focused selection of pieces developed around a single principle: for each essential garment, what is the most appropriate material, and what is the best way to make it?

It is not a separate brand. It is a way of thinking about a specific category of piece — the ones that are worn closest to the skin, most often, and for the longest time. These are the pieces where material choice matters most.

Selected, not designed.

Materica pieces are not designed in the conventional sense. They begin with a question: what does this piece need to do? From that question, we work backwards — to the fibre, to the structure, to the construction detail that makes the difference between a piece that lasts and one that does not.

Each Materica piece is developed with a specific material profile. The material profile documents the fibre source, the knit or weave structure, the care requirements, and the body feel scores that we assign from physical samples. Nothing is published without a physical sample review.
