A fine-gauge inner top knitted from cashmere — a natural fibre known for its soft, warm handfeel and light weight relative to its warmth. This piece is designed to be worn close to the skin as a base layer in cooler months.

Cashmere is a natural protein fibre that many people find comfortable against the skin. Individual sensitivity varies; we recommend trying against your skin before extended wear if you have sensitive skin.

Material

This inner top is knitted from cashmere — a natural fibre combed from the undercoat of cashmere goats. Cashmere is valued for its soft handfeel and warmth relative to its weight. This piece uses a fine gauge to produce a fabric that is thin enough to wear comfortably under other garments, while providing meaningful warmth. The fibre grade and micron count will be confirmed and listed here once supplier documentation is received.

Construction — Smooth Jersey

A single-faced knit with a soft face and a slightly textured reverse, with good horizontal stretch.

Smooth jersey is the most common knit construction — a single layer of interlocked loops that creates a soft, flat face and a slightly visible loop structure on the reverse. It stretches comfortably in the width, drapes fluidly, and feels light against the skin. The quality of the yarn determines how refined it feels; in fine-gauge cotton or cashmere, the result is a fabric of exceptional softness and movement.

Why It Costs What It Costs

Cashmere is one of the most costly natural fibres by weight. Each goat produces only a small amount of combable undercoat per year, and the raw fibre requires extensive processing before it can be knitted. The price also reflects the fine-gauge knitting process, the hand-finishing at seam points, and small-batch production. This is not a commodity cashmere piece.
